Copy, cut, paste, or delete an object

To copy, cut, paste, or delete an object

  1. Select the desired object or objects on the artboard or in the Objects and Timeline panel. To select multiple objects, hold down the CTRL key.

  2. Do one of the following:

    • To delete the object and make it available for pasting elsewhere, select Cut on the Edit menu.

    • To copy the object, select Copy on the Edit menu.

    • To delete the object, press DELETE or select Delete on the Edit menu.

  3. If you want to paste the object elsewhere and you chose either Cut or Copy in the previous step, activate the layout panel that you want to contain the object, and then select Paste on the Edit menu.

    Note

In Microsoft Expression Blend, you can quickly create a duplicate of one or many objects by selecting them and then holding down both the CTRL and ALT keys when you drag them or nudge them with the arrow keys. When you are in duplication mode, the pointer changes to the duplication pointer Cc294758.958cd6b2-7f2b-4c2c-8c3f-28ac8a7e7c87(en-us,Expression.40).png. To add more objects to your selection, drag a new object without having released the CTRL and ALT keys from the last time that you duplicated objects.
