Use scroll bars, sliders, and galleries in panels
Each panel in Microsoft Expression Design contains controls that let you modify or format paths and shapes, and offer lots of flexibility when you know how they work. Here's a quick rundown on how to get the most out of these controls.
Navigating a panel
When the contents of a panel become too long to display fully, a scroll bar appears along the right side of the panel. You can use the scroll bar to navigate in the panel.

Do one of the following:
Click and drag the scroll bar.
Right-click in the scroll bar and then click an option from the menu.
Click the arrows at the top and bottom of the scroll bar.
Using sliders
A slider is useful when you want to quickly fine-tune the value of an attribute, such as the opacity of a fill.

Select a slider and do one of the following:
Drag the slider up or to the right to increase the value, or down or to the left to reduce the value.

Using galleries
Expression Design displays custom color swatches, brush strokes, and fonts in drop-down lists or galleries. A gallery is divided into three sections: Favorites, MostRecent, and Categories (named Typefaces in the Font gallery).
