Import and export custom colors

You can export your custom color swatch sets to a file on disk and then import them again later. This lets you share your custom colors with others, or keep libraries of colors for different projects.

Exporting or importing a set of custom swatches

You can export all the custom colors in a set.

To export custom swatches

  1. In the Properties panel, in the Appearances category, at the top of the Color Picker, click the More Swatches button Cc294514.93242986-a86a-41c9-9a1c-3440d2c25d80(en-us,Expression.30).gif.

  2. In the Swatch gallery, in the Categories section, click the name of a swatch set.

  3. At the bottom of the Swatch gallery, click the Swatchoptions Cc294514.580a6978-9a74-422a-b48e-61739a9087b7(en-us,Expression.30).png icon, and click Export Swatch Library.

  4. Name the file and select a location.

To import custom swatches

  1. In the Properties panel, in the Appearances category, at the top of the Color Picker, click the More Swatches button Cc294514.93242986-a86a-41c9-9a1c-3440d2c25d80(en-us,Expression.30).gif.

  2. At the bottom of the Swatch gallery, click the Swatchoptions Cc294514.580a6978-9a74-422a-b48e-61739a9087b7(en-us,Expression.30).png icon, and click Import Swatch Library.
