Preview media

Once you have imported your media files from Microsoft Expression Encoder, you can use tools to play your files before you begin trimming, cropping, or adding additional clips.

To preview your media in Expression Encoder

  1. In the Media Content panel, select the clip that you want to preview.

  2. To preview the clip, do one of the following:

    • To start or pause playback, click Play/Pause.

    • To advance to or go back to the nearest marker, click either ****Go to next edit or marker ****Cc294503.f405545b-4cbd-478d-bfba-80721657b77f(en-us,Expression.40).png or ****Go to previous edit or marker ****Cc294503.f0d6fc04-3942-4a09-9fb7-966d50c6f95b(en-us,Expression.40).png. If there are no remaining markers, the playhead moves to either the end or the beginning of the clip.

    • To advance or go back by a single frame, click either ****Next frame ****Cc294503.947aa4e7-5b97-481a-bba8-5f690dfd4a7a(en-us,Expression.40).png or ****Previous frame ****Cc294503.44d8d906-5007-4b05-9c9c-85dde6a0a05d(en-us,Expression.40).png.

    • To scroll through the media, drag the playhead. The number of frames that you cover while dragging the playhead depends on the zoom level of the Timeline. To zoom the Timeline, click Zoom in Cc294503.6f170412-621c-4cf9-a914-bea6b4e22719(en-us,Expression.40).png or Zoom out Cc294503.5a06ba90-995a-449c-8787-9efba787e12f(en-us,Expression.40).png, or drag the slider between the two buttons.
