Manage Partition Wizard (Welcome Page)

Many partitioned tables require the regular introduction of new data and the archiving of older data, especially when the data is time-critical or when queries run against the data are based on specific time periods such as months or quarters.

The Manage Partition Wizard assists you in designing a process to switch data into and out of your partitions. With this wizard you can:

• Create a staging table for switching partitions into and out of your table.

• Manage partitioned data in a sliding window scenario.

• Create a script for managing partitions, run the script immediately, or schedule a job for managing your partitions.
