1.5 Prerequisites/Preconditions

The operation of this protocol assumes the following:

  • Both the TIP interoperability application role (section 1.3.2.1) and the TIP interoperability provider role (section 1.3.2.2) implement [MS-CMP] and [MS-CMPO].

  • The TIP interoperability provider role operates as a protocol extension with an OleTx TM. More information is specified in [MS-DTCO] section 3.2.1.5.

  • The TIP interoperability provider role possesses an implementation of the TIP protocol.

  • The TIP interoperability application role possesses an implementation-specific mechanism to determine the contact information for the TIP interoperability provider role.

  • The TIP interoperability provider role uses implementation-specific functionality to perform TIP communication with other TIP transaction managers.
