3.1.6.2 Ping Timer

When the Ping Timer expires, the DirectPlay 4 client SHOULD send a DPSP_MSG_PING message (section 2.2.42) to the host if no messages have been received since the last Ping Timer expiration. If 8 DPSP_MSG_PING messages have been sent without a reply, the connection to the host SHOULD be terminated.
