The ERP Connector Solution Starter for Microsoft Office Project Server 2007, included in the Project 2007 SDK download, is for use only on a test or demonstration installation of Project Server. You can test the ERP Connector by using only Project Server and the XML request files. Testing the complete system requires you to modify a mySAP ERP system.

Important noteImportant

Before you install the ERP Connector on production installations of Project Server and mySAP ERP, you must modify the SAPFIPlugIn and SAPCOPlugIn components and the ABAP scripts to meet your organization's requirements. For more information, see ERP Connector Solution Starter for Project Server 2007.

The mySAP ERP system requires:

  • mySAP ERP 4.6 or later.

  • Installation of mySAP ERP on a server that is separate from the server running Project Server.

For Project Server requirements, see Determine Hardware and Software Requirements (Project Server). For a link to the Project 2007 SDK download, see Welcome to the Microsoft Office Project 2007 SDK.

Development Environment

The ERP Connector components are written in Microsoft Visual C#. To modify the source code, you can use Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 or later. For more information, see the Visual Studio 2005 Developer Center.

You can modify the ERP Connector components on a computer that is separate from the Project Server computer, such as on a computer running Windows Vista. After you compile the ERP Connector components, you must also recompile the merge modules and the SetupConnector project to update the setup.exe and ERP Connector .msi files for installation on the Project Server computer.
