Monitoring Client Computer Status

The Job Monitor window displays the status of client computers in a machine pool, as well as the status of jobs and their tasks. By using the Machines pane of the Job Monitor window, you can determine whether a computer is available to execute jobs, not able to execute jobs, or currently executing a job.

To view the status of client computers

  1. Switch to the Job Monitor window.

    You can also open a new Job Monitor window by clicking Explorers, and then clicking Job Monitor.

  2. In the Machine Pool tab of the Job Monitor window, select the machine pool that contains the computer.
    A list of computers in the machine pool appears in the Machines pane.

  3. In the Machines pane, select the computer.
    The first column shows the following icons to indicate the status of the job. ****

    Icon Status Can execute jobs? Notes
    Bb931874.machine-ready-icon(en-us,MSDN.10).gif Ready Yes The computer is available and ready to execute jobs.
    Bb931874.job-running-icon(en-us,MSDN.10).gif Executing No A job is currently executing on the computer.
    Bb931874.machine-manual-icon(en-us,MSDN.10).gif Manual No A user put the job into this state by using DTM Studio.
    Bb931874.machine-debug-icon(en-us,MSDN.10).gif Debug No A job that specifies “FailStopFreeze” has failed, or DTM encountered a problem with the computer.
    Bb931874.machine-reset-icon(en-us,MSDN.10).gif Reset No DTM is trying to restore the computer to its original state.
    Bb931874.machine-unsafe-icon(en-us,MSDN.10).gif Unsafe No The DTM client has been uninstalled from the computer.

Note  Job Monitor provides a static display of data. To refresh the data, on the View menu, click Refresh. You can also refresh the display by pressing the F5 key, or by clicking the Refresh icon (Bb931874.refresh-icon(en-us,MSDN.10).gif).
