Resolving Configuration Issues in SharePoint Products
The following table summarizes configuration issues that can cause problems when a client attempts to access Web services for Team Foundation that rely on SharePoint Products and Technologies. In the table, problems that are more likely to occur appear first. Therefore, you should try the resolutions in the order in which they appear so that you can increase the chance that you can solve the problem quickly.
The New Team Project Wizard fails on computers that are running the version of Team Explorer for Visual Studio 2005 and that are accessing Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 or Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007.
Upgrade computers on which you create team projects. For more information, see How to: Upgrade Team Explorer for New Releases of SharePoint Products and Technologies.
Users have problems accessing Web sites for Visual Studio Team System Team Foundation Server.
Windows SharePoint Services 2.0 supports only the NTLM protocol for network authentication. If Kerberos authentication is enabled, access to Web sites for Team Foundation Server may incur problems. A site template is missing.
Retrieve and upload the missing template. For more information, see How to: Retrieve and Restore Missing Site Templates.
The content database for SharePoint Products and Technologies has been renamed.
Verify that the name of the content database has changed, and then remove and re-add the database. For more information, see How to: Repair the Content Database.
The Web site for Team Foundation has been extended.
Verify that the Web site for Team Foundation has been extended, and then unextend it.
This problem is more likely to occur if Windows SharePoint Services 2.0 is deployed.
