How to: Install the TIMC

This content is no longer actively maintained. It is provided as is, for anyone who may still be using these technologies, with no warranties or claims of accuracy with regard to the most recent product version or service release.

The Telephony Interface Manager Connecter (TIMC) is a compatibility layer between a Telephony Interface Manager (TIM) and the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) interface.

The TIMC interface is based on SIP and the Real-time Transport Protocol (RTP). SIP is hosted through a SIP peer, which is responsible for session initiation and call control.

The TIMC installer is not included on the Speech Server DVD - it is available only as a download from the Speech Serve page.

Note

The TIMC must be installed on a 32-bit (x86) operating system; it cannot be installed on a 64-bit (x64) operating system. For a list of compatible operating systems, see Speech Server Requirements.
