Logging Administration

This content is no longer actively maintained. It is provided as is, for anyone who may still be using these technologies, with no warranties or claims of accuracy with regard to the most recent product version or service release.

Logs provide detailed information about the run-time execution of Speech Server. Careful monitoring of logs can help you identify the sources of problems. For example, if Speech Server is declining calls, you might be able to determine what is causing the problem by reviewing the events that lead up to the call rejection.

Logging options are administered for each computer running Speech Server. To administer multiple computers running Speech Server to have the same logging options, you can copy the server settings from one computer to the other computers in a deployment group. For more information, see How to: Copy Speech Server Settings to All Computers in a Deployment Group.

Note

Regardless of how logging is administered, Speech Server always logs events in the Windows Event application log. You can review these events in Windows Event Viewer. For more information, see Speech Server Events Overview.
