About the Consolidation Method dimension

The Consolidation Method dimension is a flat dimension that stores a value called the called a consolidation method. This dimension is intended for financial models that have shares calculations.

The consolidation method specifies the nature of the ownership structure between entities. The shares calculation process determines the value of this method based on user input. A consolidation method provides information that is required for performing consolidation calculations.

The following table describes the possible values that a consolidation method member can have in the Consolidation Method dimension.

Consolidation method value Description

Default

Specifies that the consolidation rule includes all intercompany transactions.

Use this value when the account type(s) specified in TypeFilterInclude (PEL) or TypeFilterExclude (PEL) do not enable intercompany transactions.

Equity

Specifies that the consolidation rule applies to members for which the parent entity has equity control of the member entity

Full

Specifies that the consolidation rule applies to members for which the parent entity has full control of the member entity

Holding

Specifies that the consolidation applies to a member that is the holding company for the parent entity

Proportional

Specifies that the consolidation rule applies to investments in a partnership that has a defined lifetime term under International Accounting Standards (IAS)

NONE

Default value, indicates no consolidation method member

User modifications in the Consolidation Method dimension

In the Consolidation Method dimension, users have some limits on their ability to modify or structure the predefined dimension members and other member sets. You cannot create a member hierarchy in this dimension.
