Getting started with the PerformancePoint Monitoring SDK

By using the information in the PerformancePoint Monitoring SDK, you can develop your own extensions. For example, your custom solutions might include the following:

  • A wizard template that creates a team-specific dashboard by prompting for the name of the team leader. The wizard could suggest or ask for the metrics to track, and then generate a dashboard that contains KPIs, scorecards, and reports for the team.

  • A data source extension that connects to a data source that is not native to PerformancePoint Monitoring Server. For example, you could connect to an ODBC provider or a Web analytics database. In the latter case, users could then build and use KPIs and scorecards to track Web-based data, such as the performance of the company's Web site.

To begin, see How Do I... in PerformancePoint Monitoring Server for conceptual and procedural topics that can help you get started creating extensions.
