How to: Bulk Edit Work Items (Team System Web Access)

You can use Team System Web Access to modify multiple work items listed in a query results list.

Note

You can change the work item State and Reason parameters only if the work items that you select are of the same type and state.

Required Permissions

To perform these procedures, you must be a member of the Contributors group or have the View work items in this node, and Edit work items in this node permissions set to Allow. For more information, see Team Foundation Server Permissions.

To bulk edit work items

  1. Display a query results list. For more information, see How to: View and Sort Work Item Query Results Lists (Team System Web Access).

  2. In the query results list, select the check boxes next to the work items that you want to modify.

  3. Click Bulk Edit and then click Edit Work Items.

  4. In the Edit Multiple Work Items dialog box, modify the work items.

    Note

    The availability of controls in the Edit Multiple Work Items dialog box depends on the work items selected. If you select more than one work item, some controls may not be available for edit.

  5. Click Save to save your changes.

    The list of processed individual work items appears in the lower pane of the dialog box. An exclamation mark (!) appears next to work items that fail bulk editing.

  6. Click an exclamation mark to open a work item that failed bulk editing and then fix the error.

  7. When you have finished modifying work items, click Close.
