How to: Monitor Speech Server with Event Viewer

Speech Server generates events to the Windows Event log, which you can view using Event Viewer. You can also configure Speech Server to send events that are useful for debugging applications to the Windows Event log. For more information, see How to: Set Up Developer Events for the Windows Event Log.

Using Event Viewer

To use Event Viewer

  1. Click Start, click Run, type eventvwr, and then click OK.

  2. In the console tree, click Application.

  3. Sort by Source, and then search for Speech Server.

  4. Use Event Viewer to sort, filter, and search for events based on event properties.

    For example, set a filter for everything except error-level messages.

To view only error-level messages for Speech Server

  1. In Event Viewer, right-click Application, and then click Properties.

  2. On the Filter tab under Event Types, select the Error check box, and then clear all other check boxes.

  3. In the Event Source box, select Speech Server.

  4. Click OK.
