Add or remove a dimension association
Dimension associations let you specify which source model dimensions should be associated with which destination dimensions. After you associate dimensions, you can specify member-level mapping.
To add a dimension association
In the Workspace Browser pane, select Associations.
In the Associations workspace, click an association to check it out.
Note
If the underlying metadata has changed, an error occurs when you try to check out an association.
Select the Dimension Associations tab.
Select a source dimension from the Source dimensions table, select a destination dimension from the Destination dimensions table, and then click Add Mapping.
The background color of the mapped source and destination dimensions changes to indicate that the dimensions are mapped.
Note
You can associate only one source dimension with one destination dimension. Aliases and member sets do not have to match.
To remove a dimension association
In the Workspace Browser pane, select Associations.
In the Associations workspace, click an association to check it out.
Select the Dimension Associations tab.
Select the dimension association that you want to remove from the dimension mappings table, and then click Remove Mapping.
The background color of the dimensions in the Source dimensions and Destination dimensions table changes to indicate that the dimensions are no longer mapped.
To remove all dimension associations
In the Workspace Browser pane, select Associations.
In the Associations workspace, click an association to check it out.
Select the Dimension Associations tab.
Click Remove All Mappings.
The background color changes to indicate that the dimensions are no longer mapped.
