Preparing Computers to Run or Host Office Solutions

All Office solutions have prerequisites that must be installed before the solution can be run.

Applies to: The information in this topic applies to document-level projects and application-level projects for Microsoft Office 2010 and the 2007 Microsoft Office system. For more information, see Features Available by Office Application and Project Type.

You can create a Setup program by using the Publish Wizard that checks for prerequisites before it installs the solution components. For more information, see Office Solution Prerequisites for Deployment and How to: Install Prerequisites on End User Computers to Run Office Solutions.

If you deploy to Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS), you might have to configure the MIME type for the deployment manifest. For more information, see How to: Prepare IIS for Deployment of Office Solutions.
