BIT Package A is a sample package to illustrate the migration of data in a Speech Server 2004 R2 reports database to a Speech Server tuning database.

To validate the migration of data transaction by transaction, review the PackageALog table in the target database. The PackageALog table is updated with each migration.

Comprehensive data verification scripting is possible; however, migration validation is generally considered acceptable if row counts and values sum appropriately across the two systems. If an alternative validation process is required, consider Visual Studio 2005 Team Edition for Database Professionals. This Visual Studio Team System feature contains several programs for schema and data comparison. With the DataCompare program, you can quickly compare two databases and write your own scripts to synchronize data.

Incomplete migration can be caused by the Speech Server 2004 application raising a TaskProgressEvent, without the corresponding TaskStartEvent or TaskCompleteEvent. To investigate this, look for incomplete sessions or tasks in the Speech Server 2004 Error Report. A migration error can also be caused by an incomplete source log file.
