Demonstrates

The Microsoft Tablet PC Platform SDK provides text recognition capabilities in the Microsoft.Ink namespace. Text recognition is performed by RecognizerContext, which are produced by an instance of type Recognizer. Multiple recognizers might (and probably will) be installed on a single computer. You will often want to use the default recognizer, which you can retrieve by using the GetDefaultRecognizer() method of the Recognizer class.

This sample enumerates the recognizers installed on the system and enables the user to choose from among them. An InkOverlay is attached to a Panel for ink collection. After writing text on the screen by using the pen, the user clicks a Recognize menu item to initiate text recognition. The best guess, also known as a top string, is displayed in a ListBox. The alternatives are also displayed in the ListBox.

The user can also erase the ink.

This sample requires that the following be installed:

  • Visual Studio

  • Tablet PC Platform SDK

  • Windows XP Tablet PC Edition 2005
