Avoid cubes with a single dimension

This rule analyzes cube dimensions to determine whether a cube contains only one cube dimension.

Under most circumstances, a cube that contains only one cube dimension should have that dimension split into multiple cube dimensions based on logical business entities. Splitting a single cube dimension into multiple cube dimensions will also improve usability in most user scenarios.

For more information about how to define dimensions, see Designing Dimensions in SQL Server Books Online.
