The type of the elements of source.
Parameters
- source
- Type: System.Collections.Generic.IEnumerable(Of TSource)
An IEnumerable(Of T) that contains the elements to be counted.
Usage Note
In Visual Basic and C#, you can call this method as an instance method on any object of type IEnumerable(Of TSource). When you use instance method syntax to call this method, omit the first parameter. The following code example demonstrates how to use LongCount(Of TSource)(IEnumerable(Of TSource)) to count the elements in an array.

{"apple", "banana", "mango", "orange", "passionfruit", "grape"}
' Get the number of items in the array.
Dim count As Long = fruits.LongCount()
' Display the result.
MsgBox("There are " & count & " fruits in the collection.")
