XElement Explicit Conversion (XElement to Decimal)

Cast the value of this XElement to a Decimal.

This API is not CLS-compliant.

	XElement element
)

Parameters

element
Type: System.Xml.Linq.XElement
The XElement to cast to Decimal.

Return Value

Type: System.Decimal
A Decimal that contains the content of this XElement.

ExceptionCondition
FormatException

The element does not contain a valid Decimal value.

ArgumentNullException

The element parameter is null.

The following example creates an element with a decimal value. It then retrieves the value of the attribute by casting to Decimal.

XElement root = new XElement("Root", "79228162514264337593543950335");
decimal value = (decimal)root;
Console.WriteLine("value={0}", value);

This example produces the following output:

value=79228162514264337593543950335
