XElement Explicit Conversion (XElement to Int32)

Cast the value of this XElement to an Int32.

This API is not CLS-compliant.

Namespace:  System.Xml.Linq
Assembly:  System.Xml.Linq (in System.Xml.Linq.dll)

public static explicit operator int (
	XElement element
)

Parameters

element
Type: System.Xml.Linq.XElement
The XElement to cast to Int32.

Return Value

Type: System.Int32
A Int32 that contains the content of this XElement.

ExceptionCondition
FormatException

The following example creates an element with an integer as content. It then retrieves the value by casting to Int32.

XElement root = new XElement("Root", 2147483647);
int value = (int)root;
Console.WriteLine("value={0}", value);

This example produces the following output:
