Team Explorer and Project Creation Wizard

Team Explorer gives you an organized view of your team projects. When you expand a team project node in Team Explorer, it shows additional nodes called plug-ins. The process template for that team project determines what you see in the plug-in. You can change the process template to control what is displayed for your projects.

You can use the object model of Team Explorer to host your plug-in. Also, you can extend the Project Creation Wizard to meet your needs.
