Create alert rule (form) [AX 2012]

Right-click on the form that you want to create an alert rule for and then select Create alert rule.
Use this form to create alert rules for a specific form. When the criteria of an alert rule are met, an alert is triggered. The alert rules you create can be maintained in the Manage alert rules form.
The following tables provide descriptions for the controls in this form.

| Select | Open the Inquiry form where you can specify the business data records for which to apply the rule.

| Send email alerts for job status changes | Field | Specify the information in a form that you want to monitor. The initial contents of this field change according to the location from where you clicked the Create alert rule command. You can select one of the fields in the active form. | ||
| Event | Determine during which event an alert should be triggered. Click the following links to read more about the three event types:

| Alert me for | All records | Select this option if you want to be alerted for all records of the selected business data type.
| ||
| Current record | Select this option if you want to be alerted for the active record of the selected business data type.

| Only records that match the selected filter | Select this option if you want to be alerted for a subset of the records of the selected business data type.

| Alert me until | No end date | Trigger alerts indefinitely. | ||
| End date | Trigger alerts up to and including the selected day. Then, the rule becomes inactive. | |||
| Alert me with | Subject | The title of the alert message is generated from your entries in this form. You can change the suggested title. | ||
| Message | Enter optional message text. This text will be sent when an alert is triggered. | |||
| Alert who | User ID | Enter the user who is designated to receive the alerts that are generated by the current alert rule. | ||
| Other alerts | Show pop-ups | Send the alerts that are generated by the current alert rule as pop-up windows. |
