Basic Edit Overview

Visual Studio 2005
[This topic is pre-release documentation and is subject to change in future releases. Blank topics are included as placeholders.]

The Basic Edit sample demonstrates two possible implementations of standard editors. Standard editors persist data to a file and are usable by other project systems in the IDE.

The Basic Edit sample creates a VSPackage object that instantiates an editor factory when it is called. Depending on the user preference specified, this editor factory instantiates either an in-place activation editor or a simplified embedding editor.

The editor factory for the Basic Edit sample instantiates a single instance of DocData and DocView on the CBscEditorDocument object. These instances support both the in-place activation and the simplified embedding editor configuration.
