Domain.UpdateLocalSideOfTrustRelationship Method (String, String)

Updates the password for the local side of a trust relationship.

public void UpdateLocalSideOfTrustRelationship(
	string targetDomainName,
	string newTrustPassword
)

Parameters

targetDomainName
Type: System.String
The DNS name of the domain with which a trust exists.
newTrustPassword
Type: System.String
The new password for the trust.

ExceptionCondition
ActiveDirectoryObjectNotFoundException

There is no trust relationship with the domain that is specified by targetDomainName.

ActiveDirectoryOperationException

A call to the underlying directory service resulted in an error.

ActiveDirectoryServerDownException

The target server is either busy or unavailable.

ArgumentException

targetDomainName or newTrustPassword is an empty string.

ArgumentNullException

targetDomainName or newTrustPassword is null.

ObjectDisposedException

The object has been disposed.

UnauthorizedAccessException

The specified account does not have permission to perform this operation.

To re-establish the trust, both sides of the trust must be updated with the same password.
