SubscriptionDescription.ForwardTo Property

Gets or sets the path to the recipient to which the message is forwarded.

Namespace:  Microsoft.ServiceBus.Messaging
Assembly:  Microsoft.ServiceBus (in Microsoft.ServiceBus.dll)

public string ForwardTo { get; set; }

Property Value

Type: System.String
The path to the recipient to which the message is forwarded.

ForwardTo enables you to chain messaging entities and create topologies. The recipient can be a queue or topic. After you set this property on a subscription, messages cannot be directly received from that entity.

Service Bus supports automatic message forwarding from the subscription of a partitioned topic (source) into a partitioned queue or topic (destination) by setting the ForwardTo property on the subscription of the source topic. If the message contains a partition key (SessionId, PartitionKey, or MessageId if the RequiresDuplicateDetection property is set to true), the key is used for the source topic as well as for the destination entity. If you use a transaction to send messages to the source topic, the message must have the SessionId or PartitionKey properties set. If a single transaction is used to send multiple messages to the source topic, all messages must use the same partition key.

For more information, see Chaining Service Bus entities with Auto-forwarding.
