FTP Log On Dialog Box
The FTP Log On dialog box prompts you for credentials to connect to an FTP Web site. Type the credentials that were provided by the FTP server administrator. The settings displayed in this dialog box are affected by the settings you chose when you opened the Web site as an FTP Web site in the Choose Location Dialog Box.

Connect using passive mode
Select this check box if there is a firewall between your computer and the FTP server. For more information about active and passive FTP, see FTP-Deployed Web Site Projects.If you selected Passive Mode in the Choose Location Dialog Box, this element will not be shown.
Anonymous log on
Select this check box if the FTP server does not require you to log on in order to access files. Clear the check box to enter a user name and password.Note
If you do not provide required credentials when specifying the logon information for the FTP Web site, Visual Web Developer prompts you for them when you attempt to connect. Visual Web Developer never attempts to connect to an FTP server anonymously unless you explicitly specify anonymous logon.
User namePassword
Enter the credentials that were provided by the FTP server administrator. The user name and password for the FTP server might be different from your usual Windows logon credentials.
