Recovery CD

In some severe circumstances, such as when a run-time image is corrupted, it may be necessary to start your device from a bootable CD. Microsoft® Windows® XP Embedded provides the tools that you need to create a bootable CD and to install a new copy of the run-time image that was installed onto the device before it left the factory.

This section describes how to use Microsoft Windows Preinstallation Environment (Windows PE) and System Deployment Image (SDI) to create a recovery CD.
