Group Policy Settings

You can use Group Policy to set policies that apply to your default user settings. For example, you can restrict the default user account's access to specified drives on a target device. Only specified accounts, such as the system administrator account, would be able to access these drives.

Group Policy settings also let you define the various components of the user's desktop environment. You can define and control how programs, network resources, and the operating system behave for users and computers.

For more information on using Group Policy, see “Using Group Policy” in the Windows XP Help.
