Adding a File to a Configuration

By using Windows XP Embedded Target Designer, you can add to a configuration any files that you need that are not included in a component.

To add a file to a configuration

  1. In Windows XP Embedded Target Designer, from the Tools menu, choose Options.

  2. In the Options dialog box, choose the Build tab.

  3. In the Extra Files Folder box, type or browse to the location on the development computer where the extra files that you are adding can be found.

  4. Choose OK.

  5. In the configuration editor, right-click Extra Files.

If the Extra Resources node is not shown in the configuration editor, choose the View menu, and then choose Resources. A check mark is placed next to Resources.

  6. To add a single file, choose Add, specify information about the file in the Add an Extra File to the Configuration dialog box, and choose OK.

The file appears in the details pane.

  7. To add multiple files, choose Add Multiple or Add all in folder and choose the files or folder in the resulting dialog box.

After a file is added to a configuration, its information can be changed. In the details pane, double-click the file and edit the information in the File Resource Properties dialog box.
