Network Setup Wizard Down Level Setup

The Network Setup Wizard Down Level Setup component consists of one executable file, called NetSetup.exe. Netsetup.exe extracts and installs Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) and Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) binary files and support files on later version client computers. These binary files are linked into the executable file similar to a .cab file. After installation, this component automatically starts the Network Setup Wizard to create a home network for the client computers. The supported client platforms include Windows 98, Windows 98 SE, and Windows Me. Because Windows XP has home networking installed, this wizard starts home networking on Windows XP without using the installation process.

Because this wizard is distributed in both compressed and uncompressed form on the CD, a user can run it directly from the CD or copy it to a disk and run it from the disk if a client computer does not have a CD-ROM drive.
