Names Form [AX 2012]

Use this form to view all of the application objects in the cross-reference system, with their name, object type, and number of references. The objects can be sorted by any of the column headings.
To open the Names form:

Select Tools > Cross-reference > Names.

Enter the query in the Inquiry form. You can query by Application object type, Application object name, Type name, or Path.

Click OK to run the query. If the form is unexpectedly empty, see How to: Create the Cross-Reference System.
The following table describes the columns in the data grid.
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| Application object type | The type of the application object. |
| Application object name | The name of the application object. |
| Type name | The name of the parent object. For example, if the application object type is TableField, the Type name shows the table that the object belongs to. |
| Count | The number of references to the application object. |
The following table describes the buttons on this form.

| Used by | View the application objects that use the selected object. |
| Path | View the location of the object in the Application Object Tree (AOT). Child objects (such as fields and methods) are also listed. |
| Add-Ins | Open the Add-ins menu. |
