gopher Protocol

Opens a gopher session with the specified site address.

Specifies the fully qualified domain name or IP address to the site.

Remarks

Available as of Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.0 or later.

Note    The gopher protocol is turned off by default in Internet Explorer 6 for Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2). The protocol has been removed from Microsoft Win32 Internet (WinInet) in Windows Internet Explorer 7.
