Troubleshoot territories
Rendering large numbers of territories on the map may take several minutes. There are several things that you can do to make territory performance better.
Increase the amount of RAM on your computer. If you are planning to use the territory feature of MapPoint, it is recommended you have at least 128 megabytes of RAM.
Reduce the number of programs that are running.
Do a full installation of MapPoint instead of a minimum installation.
If the territories you want to create already exist in another file, you can copy the territory set from one file and paste into another. Select a territory set in the Legend and Overview, click Copy on the Edit menu, and click Paste on the the Edit menu in another map.
Territories are saved in individual map files and are not automatically added to new maps unless you create a template that includes the territories.
Note You can also quickly copy territory definitions from one map to another by selecting a territory set in the Legend and Overview pane, clicking Copy on the Edit menu, and clicking Paste on the the Edit menu in a new map.
