Add a highlighted line

  1. On the Drawing toolbar, click Highlight Highlight button.

  2. Do one or both of the following:

    To draw freehand highlighted segments, drag the mouse on the map.

    To draw a straight segment, click point to point.

  3. Do one of the following:

    To end a highlighted line and leave it open, double-click where you want it to end, or press ESC.

    To close a highlighted shape, right-click at any point, and then click Close Curve.

Note  The length of the highlighted line appears on the map in miles or kilometers, depending on the units designated in the Options dialog box.
