Using Command-Line Administration Scripts
You can extend administrative control using scripts to perform server administration tasks. Using scripts, your can automate tasks, remotely administer sites and resources, and take advantage of batch files to create and manage objects. For additional information on the use of command lines, see the "Command-Line Reference" in Windows Help and Support Center.
IIS contains eight supported command-line scripts that use the IIS WMI provider to configure and manage IIS metabase configurations. Microsoft supports the command-line scripts included in IIS as long as they are not modified. If you need to modify a supported script, you must create a new file name to save it, leaving the original script unmodified.
