The Microsoft Dynamics AX database is a relational database. Microsoft Dynamics AX supports Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle databases.

In addition to standard relational database functionality, you can do the following:

  • View historical data by using cubes.

  • View current data by creating reports.

  • Access and modify data by using SQL statements.

  • Store data for multiple companies in the database to apply the same application logic to multiple data sets.

  • Cache tables and records.
