The Microsoft.Exchange.Data namespace that is provided with Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 provides a wide variety of types that simplify tasks such as the following:

• Reading and writing Multipurpose Internet Mail Extensions (MIME) data
• Converting message bodies and other text from one encoding to another
• Reading and writing Transport Neutral Encapsulation Format (TNEF) data
• Reading and writing calendars and appointments
• Converting the format of a message, for example, from HTML to RTF
• Extending the behavior of the Exchange 2007 transport services
