Troubleshoot Location Finder

Location Finder uses a database of known Wi-Fi access points to compute your location. If you are in a rural area, or any other area with few known Wi-Fi access points, Location Finder will not be able to determine your position.

There are several reasons why you might not be able to use Location Finder:

Your computer might not be Wi-Fi–enabled. Although you do not need to be connected to a Wi-Fi network to use Location Finder, your computer must be Wi-Fi–enabled.

Your computer may be running an operating system that is incompatible with Location Finder. Location Finder can be used with Microsoft Windows 2000, Windows XP, and Microsoft Windows Server 2003 operating systems.
