New Measure Dialog Box
Use the New Measure dialog box to create a new set of numeric values in an Analysis Services (OLAP) cube based on a column in the fact table of the cube.
| Use this | To do this |
|---|---|
| Measure name | Type a descriptive name for the new measure you are creating. |
| Base data item | From the drop-down list, select the base data item for the measure. Note: This option is available for all measures except the count measure. |
| Sum | Click to create a measure that displays the sum of all the elements in the base data item. |
| Count | Click to create a measure that displays the total number of instances of the base activity. |
| Average | Click to create a measure that displays the average value of the elements in the base data item. |
| Maximum | Click to create a measure that displays the highest-valued element in the base data item. |
| Minimum | Click to create a measure that displays the lowest-valued element in the base data item. |
