The TH element specifies a table header column. This is a block element and requires a closing tag.

Note   The TH element has default formatting for the contents, which are centered and use a bold style. It is almost the same as a TD element, except for the default formatting.

Using this Element

BACKGROUND URL Yes Yes Specifies the URL of a background image to be displayed beneath the table header.

This attribute is equivalent to the CSS:

background-image: url( {url} );
Note   Supported only for devices running Windows Mobile 2003 software or later.
BGCOLOR Special Yes Yes Sets the background color of the table header. Table header background colors are disabled on grayscale devices, and backgrounds are always white. See BODY BGCOLOR for the format and possible color names.

This attribute is equivalent to the CSS:

background-color: {color};
CLASS   Yes Yes Associates the element with a CSS style.
Note   Supported only for devices running Windows Mobile 2003 software or later.
COLSPAN 1...# Yes Yes Sets the number of columns that the table header spans in the table.
HEIGHT Special Yes Yes Specifies the height of the current cell. In an HTML table, this sets the height for an entire row.

This attribute is equivalent to the CSS:

height: {n};
Note   Supported only for devices running PocketPC 2002 and Smartphone 2002 software or later.
ID   Yes Yes Uniquely identifies the element within a document.
Note   Supported only for devices running Windows Mobile 2003 software or later.
NOWRAP   Yes Yes This is a stand-alone attribute, specifying that data within the current cell does not use normal HTML line-breaking conventions. The table cell enlarges to fit whatever data is specified in the cell.

This attribute is equivalent to the CSS:

white-space: nowrap;
Note   Supported only for devices running PocketPC 2002 and Smartphone 2002 software or later.
ROWSPAN 1...# Yes Yes Sets the number of rows that the table header should span in the table.
STYLE   Yes Yes Provides the definition of the CSS styles used for this element.
Note   Supported only for devices running Windows Mobile 2003 software or later.
VALIGN   Yes Yes Specifies the vertical alignment of the contents of the table cell.

This attribute is equivalent to the CSS:

vertical-align: {align}
  bottom Yes Yes Aligns contents with the bottom of the table cell.
  baseline Yes Yes Aligns the base line of the first line of text with the base lines in adjacent table cells.
  center Yes Yes Aligns contents with the middle of the table cell.
  middle Yes Yes Aligns contents with the middle of the table cell.
  top Yes Yes The top value aligns contents with the top of the table cell.
WIDTH Special Yes Yes Specifies the width of the table header in pixels.

This attribute is equivalent to the CSS:

width: {n};
Note   Percentage widths are supported only for devices running PocketPC 2002 and Smartphone 2002 software or later.
