IX509PrivateKey::Silent property

The Silent property specifies or retrieves a Boolean value that indicates whether the Certificate Enrollment Control is allowed to display a dialog box when the private key is accessed.

This property is read/write.

Syntax

  [in]  VARIANT_BOOL Value

HRESULT get_Silent(
  [out] VARIANT_BOOL *pValue
);

Property value

A VARIANT_BOOL variable.

Error codes

If the function succeeds, the function returns S_OK.

If the function fails, it returns an HRESULT value that indicates the error. Possible values include, but are not limited to, those in the following table. For a list of common error codes, see Common HRESULT Values.

The key is open, and the property value cannot be set.

Remarks

If the user interface is not allowed but is required to access the private key, operations that require the user interface will fail.
