Providing Policy for Your Applications

You can use the Group Policy infrastructure to configure policy settings for an application. You can also extend the Group Policy infrastructure to provide specialized settings for your applications and to enhance reporting capabilities.

Note

Settings are managed by an administrator, not a user.

Before you can develop policy-enabled applications, you must understand how Group Policy is processed and how to enable your application for Group Policy.

When you understand these policy concepts, you can choose options to provide policy in your application.

When designing policy settings for applications on this platform, you should also consider supporting and extending Resultant Set of Policy (RSoP).
