Linkable Property

Visual Studio .NET 2003

Sets or returns whether the tool window can be docked with other tool windows.

[Visual Basic .NET]
Public Property Linkable() As Boolean
[Visual Basic 6]
Property Get Linkable() As Boolean
Property Let Linkable( _
   ByVal NewValue As Boolean _
)
[C++]
HRESULT __stdcall get_Linkable(
   /* [out, retval] */ VARIANT_BOOL* retVal
);
HRESULT __stdcall put_Linkable(
   /* [in] */ VARIANT_BOOL NewValue
);
[C#]
public bool Linkable {get; set;}
[JScript .NET]
public function get Linkable() : Boolean
public function set Linkable(
   NewValue : Boolean
)

Parameters

Value
Required. True if the window can be docked with other windows, False if not.

Return Value

True if the window can be docked with other windows, False if not.

Remarks

Linkable is meaningful only for tool windows. Setting Linkable to False causes the tool window to no longer force itself to be on top, as well as changing the window's behavior.

For a document window, Linkable is always False, so setting the value fails.

Example

This property requires a tool window. For an example of how to use this property, see the ToolWindow sample on the Visual Studio .NET Automation Samples webpage: http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/prodinfo/previous/rcbeta/automation.asp.
