Windows Forms: Localization Sample

The Windows Forms Localization sample demonstrates techniques for localizing a Windows Forms application with Visual Basic .NET. The sample contains a variety of controls and localized content (text string, menus, images, and so forth.). When the user selects a language from the combo box, the user interface will update itself using the locale of the language selected.

Note   To install and run this sample, you must be a member of your computer's Debugger Users group. If installing this application by means of a remote session, you must be a member of the Administrators group.

To run this sample

  1. Copy all files to your local hard drive by means of the Copy All Files link.
  2. Open the .sln file.
  3. Press F5 to start the application.
  4. Click the Click Me button.

    A greeting is displayed in English.

  5. In the combo box, choose a different culture.

    The text of the application and the greeting displayed are now represented in the selected language.
