FileFilter Property

See Also    Example    Applies To

Returns or sets the file filter (extension) to use when exporting a report.

object.FileFilter [=string]

The FileFilter property syntax has these parts:

Part Description
object Required. An object expression that evaluates to an object in the Applies To list.
string Optional. The extension to use for creating a file in the ".xxx" format.

The FileFilter property determines what filter will be displayed in the Export dialog box.

The property can be assigned multiple filters by separating each filter with a semicolon (but no spaces), as shown below:

DataReport1.ExportFormats(5).FileFilter = "*.htm;*.html"

Note, however, that the FileFilter should match the FormatType type assigned to the ExportFormat object. For example, setting FileFilter to "*.htm" and FormatType to rptFmtText is an invalid pair of settings. Also note that no error will be raised for this state.
