Setting Installer Project Properties

When you create a new installer project or merge module, Microsoft® Visual Studio® Installer sets many of the basic project properties. Basic project properties include whether to distribute your installer with the Microsoft® Windows® installer bootstrap loader, your distribution media, and what application name is displayed to the end user.

In most cases, you can use the Visual Studio Installer defaults for these properties.

You can view or change the project properties in the Project Properties dialog box.

To display the Project Properties Dialog Box

  1. Select your installer project in the Project Explorer window.

  2. At the end of the Project menu, select the InstallerProjectNameProperties option.
